Chautauqua Park is one of my most popular senior session locations! I absolutely love shooting there every single time. This session took place in June, the perfect time for wildflowers in Boulder and the lower foothills. Scarlett’s three outfits each added a wonderful variety to her gallery. She started with a classic look: a black top paired with jeans, which provided a timeless and effortless feel. The second outfit, a patterned long dress, flowed beautifully in the photos, adding an element of whimsy to the lush green backdrop. Finally, her short white dress stood out brilliantly among the colorful wildflowers, capturing the essence of summer’s bloom. She also brought a beautiful bouquet of flowers to hold throughout her photos, which added a personal and vibrant touch to the session. I highly recommend creating a bouquet if you want to incorporate flowers into your photos whether it’s wildflower season or not!
For anyone planning a senior session or any photoshoot in Colorado, timing is everything when it comes to wildflowers. While June is ideal for places like Boulder and the lower foothills, the best time to catch the stunning wildflowers in Crested Butte, Vail, and Breckenridge is from early to mid July. This period ensures you’ll capture the vibrant, peak blooms that Colorado is known for. Whether you’re looking for a serene mountain backdrop or a field bursting with color, planning your session around these peak times will guarantee breathtaking photos that celebrate both the natural beauty of the state and the milestones in your life.
