One of the most rewarding aspects of being a photographer is capturing the unique stories of couples in places that hold special meaning to them. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Faith and Luke’s engagements in the breathtaking mountains of Utah. Having just moved into their dream home nestled in this picturesque setting, we started the session right in their backyard. This intimate location added a personal touch, allowing me to capture their love story in a place they love. Afterward, we drove just up the road to take advantage of the stunning mountain views, making for a truly memorable and gorgeous session.
For couples planning their engagement photos, it’s essential to choose locations that are meaningful to you. This not only makes the session more personal but also helps you feel more comfortable and relaxed. Start at a spot that is significant in your relationship — like your home or a favorite park. Then, venture to nearby scenic areas to add variety and take advantage of beautiful backdrops. Another tip is to incorporate elements that reflect your shared interests or hobbies. Whether it’s a cozy picnic setup, a hike, or even including your dogs, these personal touches will make your engagement photos uniquely yours and a true reflection of your relationship.
